Heads up for those doing an online renewal.

There is an issue with the online forms. It won't let you save the information you have filled in, or pay the fee, unless you input A mobile number for a GP.

However GPs don't give out mobile numbers in general.

To get the data saved I put my own number in instead, and then contacted Te Tare Pureke today, to find out that its a known issue with the online forms that has not been fixed, and that what I have done is an acceptable bypass.

There is a section at the end where you can leave a note evidently, informing them of what you have done.

Pity they could not come up with good lateral thinking and fix the bug.......I mean that too would be an acceptable bypass......But that would almost suggest competence......

So all the people who do not have a GP cannot renew. A lot of people move to towns where the local GPs are not taking on new patients/customers.

Yeah Im kind of in that situation where my only option is a medical centre with locums. It's acceptable;e to put down a medical centre rather than an actual GP, and there is an option for that. Its just that for some reason they have not fixed the error in requiring a GPs mobile number.

Yup same issue. I haven’t been to the doctor in 10 years and moved a number of times. I just put the last practice I used and forced my way through the info with obviously fake email and numbers… fake@nodoctor.com. I haven’t heard from anyone yet apart from a email saying my applications been forwarded to my district for vetting.

I am doing my renewal now and for some reason I could not upload a photo of myself or a proof of address document (PDF). I called FLA and they said just stick any photo or document in that will upload so I could complete the form. So, my photo is of Yamaha MT01, and my proof of address document is a photo of a fallow deer.
I then sent them an email to explain what had happened and attached the correct photo/document. I received a confirmation later that day that the email had been received but today I got another email saying that my photo and proof of address were missing off my application. We will see how long that takes to get sorted...

I had a similar issue. Even if the authority tells you to add any information, there is a declaration at the end where you have to say that everything is completed as true and accurate etc.
How does this look legally I wonder.

It's a frustrating system to use! I know your pain. You would think with the importance that has been placed on this new system, and the money spent, that getting us on board with a decent working system would be one of the top priorities.

Odd, I did my licence renewal 6 months ago and had none of these problems. Is this a new thing? I don't have a GP so certianly did not enter a mobile number.
