How the hell do you manage to do that in there? Especially a member of another party.
well if that article is correct WTAF is going on??? no charges laid and no arrest???
many laws were clearly broken if the goings on are as has been described in other thread

Had a very close call in there myself , the guy with the rifle managed to control himself, and that's why I'm posting this.
Second time I've been looking down a barrel, actually it was three barrels.
really sad Hannahr16....... I think I can speak for all here and say our thoughts are with the families.

So very sad.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
Devastating, I'm sure more will come to light over the coming days the story doesn't read very well with such limited information but I assume who ever shot him hit the PLB truly sad for all involved. My thoughts go out .
@Kelton I suspect that one of the others in the party had the PLB and activated it...Or the victim may have had time to activate his (I do not know) but somehow I think if the PLB was hit that it would be damaged enough not to work...
Intelligence has its limits, but it appears that Stupidity knows no bounds......
Just read the closed thread.
If that’s indeed true there definitely needs to be a man slaughter charge laid.
The rules of Te Urewera forbid hunting during darkness for this very reason.
Condolences to the dudes family though.
And a part of me feels bad for the shooter too.
Hell of a thing to live with.
I hope and pray I never make that mistake.
