They used to years ago! I bought quite a few firearms from Police auctions (ususally tacked onto NZ Antique Arms auctions but open to the public for police items) but they stopped doing it about 1970. Maybe they were embarrassed by the money they made!

I saw a picture of a sawn off they took off some clown a few years back. It was a mess. I wouldn't want to fire it.
Some of the "grandad's old war trophies " would have been good though.
