Import Permit for Detacahable Rifle Magazine

Sent the application to Te Tari Pureke 02 July to import a Detachable Rifle Magazine from the USA.
Permit approved and sent to me 25 July.
Quicker than I expected. I'm happy.

It's OK getting the Import Permit, but are you sure that your supplier/vendor will export from the US?

    How does it work?
Do you have to get the permit before or after placing the order?
Will customs hold it until you have the paperwork?

You have to have the import permit in hand before the item arrives in the country

Otherwise you imported an item or caused an item to be imported without an import permit

Hoping it has sped up - they sent me my last permit the day after I arrived back in NZ, and now my next trip has moved forward.... might be two years in a row my permit comes through after I get back.

I think I should just start doing permits for anything I could vaguely want just in case I need it later.

My recent import permit is issued in 10 days after the submission of application. Really quick nowadays.
