Let me ask a question. You say it would not replace common sense and that it is only a tool in helping to identify a fellow human. Yet we have already had the red light analogy, human nature gets lazy. People WILL start to rely on it. You say you wouldn't yet you cannot speak for everyone.
Couple points:
Do trampers and other people in the bush have to wear it?
You have to point your firearm in the direction of the "target" to get a warning. What happened to treat every firearm as loaded and always point in a safe direction.
Do you not think that "Hunter Education" and "Firearm Safety" is more important than another gadget which not everyone will use. Even if it were to become compulsory people wont use it. Again we can use cars and red lights analogy here.
What happens if a competitor comes out with his version so that there is not a monopoly. Are they compatible.
Personally i think it is a dangerous gadget that people will become reliant on. Target identification is far more important. Something my old man drummed into me was. Its only a "deer etc" if you have to take a snap shot/can only see parts you don't as you have not identified the animal.
No you may not quote me.
