Mike had a tendency to stray and never really properly answered quite a few questions. He has a reputation for that. What I did like though was his encouraging the participation of young people in firearms sports and the mention of NCEA qualification credits. He seemed genuine and I sincerely hope those comments were not just platitudes. When asked if he had anything else to add at the end of the interview I thought it would have been useful for him to mention that FAL holders needed to make a no arms declaration if they do not have any firearms. As far as the rhetoric around the “if the law changes then we will adapt” comment is concerned, I realise he was representing the FSA and they are likely to come under Justice but Mike is embedded Police and I neither trust him nor his PNHQ overlords to provide impartial administration..
