Loaning or leaving a firearm with another LFO a triggering event?

Hi all, the title pretty much says it all. If my firearms are on the register and I loan or leave a firearm with a mate with a license who isn't on the register, would that be a triggering event for him?

    Thanks

Only if the transfer/loan lasts more than 30 days.

Surely you lent it to him before the new rules came in

How would they know when you left it with him? There is no notification required for when you first lent it to him, so its only your word on whether its been 30 days or not.
They didn't do a lot of thinking through when they made some of these rules up.

It also says somewhere, that if you share a rifle with another licensed person. To ensure that it is only registered to one person. Being the main user.

In a potential scenario, a rifle could be stored with a non registered person most of the year. But still registered to the other person it’s shared with who takes it out and uses it more often the location where is stored - all be it a couple of times a year.

Food for thought from a registered member, doing their best to comply.
