NZDF captain facing court martial for negligence

NZDF captain facing court martial for negligence | Stuff.co.nz

A New Zealand Defence Force officer is awaiting court martial at Linton.

The NZDF captain will appear before the court martial on August 23 at the Linton Military Camp, facing charges relating to a failure to store two pistols securely.

He is accused of negligently failing to do his duty by leaving the pistols unsecured between November 19 and November 24 last year. He also faces a second charge after telling a preliminary investigation that he had put the pistols in a secure room, which he allegedly knew not to be the case.

Just a tad more serious than a conduct to the prejudice of good military discipline charge.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

The military should have their potentially dangerous toys taken off them (sarcasm).

On ya Hamsav. Could probably get rich if you found something in their mines.
