a nice chap has given my son and I an over under shotgun , unfortunately it came with a bag of rather mouldy old cartidges about 50 of them
which are corroded
is there a safe/recommended way to dispose of these?
thanks in advance,im in christchurch

Cut them open. The powder can be used as garden fertiliser or burn it off. Keep lead for some that might want to reload. Biff plastic. Put unfired hulls into shotgun and let off. Don’t think you can save the primers.

As above. Start at the plastic end, cut the end off, tip out the shot. Slit along the side and remove the wad. Tip the powder out last.
thanks chaps
will do that ,
make sure theres no collectible ones first
As long as they aren't really bad I would Shoot them, iv shot my grandad's old corroded shells and my uncles 40 year old crusty reloads just make sure the wad comes out of the barrel. But meh what do I know
Put a photo of them on here, some collector may be interested in them and save you the problem.
