Is it publicly available who is actually on the committee / reading the submissions?

I would almost argue the opposite of what they said was true- That if a 16 yr old is shown to be fit and proper that they would be A) proven to be mature enoguh that they would obey the law which is part of being fit and proper, and B) also LESS disposed to commit crime as they have more to lose than your average hoon....Your average teen hoon seems to not have any concerns about consequences shown by continuing to drive (bdly) after accumulating more ticket s thatn their vehicles are worth and still have no intention of paying or stopping what they are doing....
well ive held a FAL since i was 16....44 years ive been working and paying taxes for 46 years.....so i am either an anomoly or gun control are fact manipulating liars what really pisses me off is that some of my taxes are paying for police to lobby govt to restrict my leisure activities and advertise gun control loonys

Our Defense numbers are small in comparison to the general population of firearm ownership so we only pick the best I guess?

Back in times past the govt actively encouraged men to shoot service class rifles, and even school boys got taken to shoot during school time. Later on that got squashed as a 'peace dividend' and later the govt stopped funding service rifle shooting all done.

Now, we find ourselves in a much more contested world, and no service class firearms being allowed to be owned by the citizenry due to fear by the powers that be.

I dunno, I don't think that the issue lies with the citizens or the defense people to be honest. Not sure what the solution is though.

My younger brother got his before me....he went through the system to get his FAL while he was 15 and evenpaid for his first two rifles...though he was not allowed to take them from the shop. Instead of getting his license posted out after he turned 16 he arranged it so he could collect his license from the Police on his 16th birthday and walked from the station to the gunshop and picked his rifle up same day...........Ironically, due to completely unrelated issues, he was not able to fire his first shot through it for about 6 weeks after he took it home.(broken bones) ...without a gunbag and in his school uniform no less.....

    Oh those were the days...

And whats more, he has never been in trouble with the law EVER...I do not think he has even had a speeding ticket and he has had a FAL and a Drivers license for over 30 years......
Intelligence has its limits, but it appears that Stupidity knows no bounds......
