    Oops!

Looks like I may have been completely unintentionally hunting private land without permission! Had access to a small farm. Just seen it up for sale and turns out it was bought and sold two years previously. I had no idea! Time flies. Doesn't seem that long ago that I was helping the farmer move fallen branches off his fencing. Didn't see anyone on the property after that time. Thinking about it, that was probably 2.5 years ago. Didn't visit very often and it obviously changed hands in the interim. Check your permission is up-to-date!

I am currently in the same situation with a piece of leased land. No current lessee but the owner has said he will let me know if someone takes it on. We will see.

Well, through no fault of my own, I've gone from access to four farms to zero.

    1. Land owners went hippy and decided they didn't want pests/small game shot.
    2. Land owner had serious mental health issues and didn't want to deal with people. Complicated by a crazy horse-owning neighbour who complained every time she saw someone with a gun.
    3. Land heavily hunted by others, so moved on.
    4. Land sold.

Also used to shoot on a lifestyle block that now has houses all around it. Rabbits are rampant and the owner has asked me come come back, but it's out.

    Bugger!

Yep - I feel your pain. Currently have no land access the same as you, one farm changed hands, another got a new manager in who wanted to use the access rights as trinkets for his mates, one block got converted to carbon pines so no longer allowed in for H&S reasons (no one doing anything so as I understand it the place is overrun). Sucks really as it's a lot of effort to get and all gone in a couple of years through no fault of mine.

Sounds like, I fall in category 2 by your diagnosis but if you want somewhere to shoot, just let me know
There is no big game on my 30+ acres in Wainui but its good for sighting, plinking, duck and some small game around.

The carbon pine blocks arnt left to get overrun ....the trees can't get eaten.
There all under contracts for callers with thermal gear who come in at night...
That's the reason they don't want hobby hunters in there.
