Indeed MKM. Remember too that written letters are a good option too. They have to be handled by admin staff, logged, opened sent to the right people, read, a response formulated and put on paper and signed, put in an envelope and handled again to deliver. All the while being paid for by party funds for postage I believe.

Talk like that in the U.S.A. is what got Trump in......Effectively voters saw him as a protest vote or a vote of n"no confidence" in the current selection.

Same thing happened here in the 90s. A massive disappointment in parties winning elections and becoming government with less than half the vote saw a protest vote on a referendum that got us MMP. I will not comment as to which system is better as that is not the point. The point is that if First past the post was working, there would not have been a vote to start with....
