As an aside I know that for the last few years Welly have been trialling a MH co-response team which has a DAO, cop and ambo officer in one vehicle which has been seen as very positive by frontline staff across all agencies.

If it didnt progress any further then thats down to NZ police as IIRC its been over two decades since the trial commenced after a MOU(memorandum of understanding) was raised between Police and MOH in this regard..


Most regions also have interface with corrections via community forensic teams holding clinic in prisons,and court liason nurses stationed in all courthouses for judges counsel etc to consult if required.
