Not sure if it the right place to ask but here it goes. Looking at buying a bottom metal and magazine from a local online shop. So it not major gun parts . Do i still need a police permit for it or not? I understand it not needed but correct me if i am wrong. Shop said i need it as it online sales

I usually send an email to the FSA at Kapiti and ask the question.
You'll get a written response that you can present to the seller (if you don't need a permit) More pertinent when importing something and customs plays games.
Due to the FAL requirement to purchase magazines now, yes, you’ll need a mail-order form. You possibly wouldn’t if it was just the bottom metal alone.
To my understanding you will not need a mail order form if picking up in person (but you will need to show fal).

Are stocks on that list? I know that they would come under the parts category, but are they considered an essential part.
@Got-ya. If buying from a shop, stocks need a permit if it need to be couriered. Atleast that what the shop told me as they not allowing pick ups.
I didnt think non pcp airguns were part of this circus act. If they're not, then the FSA shouldnt be including a blanket "airguns" like that. Do the cops really want to martial
airgun lead slugs and peashooters???? How much red tape do they want?

Not sure mate. Mine is a blank barrel with not serial number on it. A chambered and threaded barrel have a serial number so that might be different.Quote:
