    Registry data security

Just the sort of news that will make us all feel so much safer about the data that will be stored in the registry https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/police...L6SJSA5ZBMDFU/
I feel so much safer by the assurances from police that we have no reason to fear anything.
    Yeah, right.

Note they have 20 current investigations into misuse of NIA, just at this particular moment in time. Historically they can take months or years to be caught out, so the real number would reasonably be expected to be much much higher.

Yep, the human element is always going to be the weak link in any of these “secure” govt or police systems. The new firearms register will be no different and data will be leaked or hacked. If they got 4 recent cases and 20 more under investigation then you can probably double that number to account for those not caught out yet.

Should have been instant dismissal once it was reasonably proven she had done it and then the criminal charges after that.

And they pretend it's not going to happen with the registration failure..

Agree it only takes "one" bad egg but that's one too many
