You need to explain that your brain can play tricks on you, even if you think you are 100% looking at a deer you can be wrong

I'm not sure anyone who's shot a human was 100% sure it was a deer. More likely they got to 20% and jumped the rest of the way because they didn't want to accept that it wasn't.

But in the moment they were 100% regardless of how they got there.

Explain to him that because the mind will indeed trick you it is best to assume it is not a deer until confirmed otherwise

Tell him that until you can identify the age and sex of the deer, or in the roar make a brief assessment of the head, you haven't identified it properly and your finger doesn't go inside the trigger guard until you do.

This shit makes my blood boil its well known this prick Richard pasco has his own agenda now this , the article it doesn't even make sense he was on the track he wasn't on the track , I wouldn't put it past him to simply make up a story to further his cause for no hunters & free advertising , hunters have a rite to be there as well & need to voice that to doc & the council Name: news link...jpg

Ok so the above article didn't make for good reading , its only 10 mins from my place so mostly for fitness reasons I go there basically take the gun for a walk so got the pip reading it it gives a very bad impression & interesting enough out of all the different people iv spoken to over the years up there they have been positive about all activity's carried out the common value everyone expressed my self included was how lucky the local people are for having the hills close to town , deer need controlled room for us all..this prompted me to chase it up a little I value access this is something that is under threat to us all its often denied when it shouldn't be " paper roads , easements , forestry's spring to mind " so I gave mr pasco a ring to clarify he basically said that his story wasn't anything like the version the press came up with, said if bikers couldn't stick to the track they should close it which I found bizarre as they have literally hoped on a bulldozer & ploughed a track through native bush for the bikers so why close it seems crazy talk he also said the hunter that came in & mentioned the above could have been the president of the local NZDA so wtf team hunters need to take a stand on this crap & from what I can gather its starting on that Mt Pizer access (farmer vs doc vs hunters ) , im not sure what access is like up country but I no down here less than half the areas administered by doc dont have a legal access way ...you have to ring a farmer or forestry to gain access seems to be trouble on our door step new gun rules & access mite be time to sort this shit out before its to late. Thats my rant .
