    Safer practices

If everyone adopted a shoot to kill attitude do you fellas reckon there would be fewer of us good bastards getting shot in the bush?
iv hunted with people in the past that seemed to just rush and shoot to hit rather then waiting for a better shot to drop the said prey quicker and I wonder if that's part of the problem??

Once you know what sex and approx age the animal is, next is to ensure a kill shot.

Kind of along the same line of thinking

Me and a mate were talking about the shooting and the guy was a older fella who done msc or whatever it was. It came from talking about people who wank on and on about head/neck shooting and we thought maybe the older guys as they are more confident they can shoot a deer in the bush, see slight movement assume its the head/neck and fire where as others may wait for the shoulder and find it's not a deer that walks out.

That theory came from watching people walk into the bush and its kinda [human, human, human, ok I see movement not sure what it could be] (as they moved back from us)

So it kinda makes a bit of sense to me

Can't edit but change older to experienced as some young guns are good shots and good hunters.

Nothing wrong with neck shooting when it's on I know a shotload of " experienced hunter's" who take neckshots I take all shots except head shot's. It depends on what part of the animal is available for a good shot, you might have a good veiw of the animal but the boiler room shot isn't clear enough but a neckshot is. I've let deer go because 50 50 shots arnt my thing and the whole time I'm identifing my target.its almost as if your implying that people who neck or head shoot arnt identifying there target??.I suggest you try a bit more hunting in the bush to really know what your talking about

I wasn't going to keep replying but this bit keeps bugging me.

I agree on it's the movement but I feel I haven't said what I mean properly (I am terrible at explaining things in writing)

I think it was shooting at movement like you said, but I was thinking of reasons why the guy shot at movement. And one of the reasons I think he may have shot at movement could be because through his eyes he saw a deers neck and being experienced enough to know he can drill a deer in the neck he just shot at it. Where as someone who doesn't care for neck shots and so on may wait for the shoulder to show and then find out its a person that walks into clear view

Still boils down to not identifying your target though

Hope I made it clearer that time
