It's pretty simple, choose representatives that believe in personal responsibility not mass regulation. Convince others to do the same.

Personal responsibility does not not prevent the worst people doing the worst stuff. Or good people being influenced to become bad. Thats why we require a regulated society. To a greater or lesser degree depending on the context.

Take Germany and what happened in WW2. “Good people being influenced to become bad”. Very good example.

People are always gonna do that - it's why we have prisons.
God gave us the Ten Commandments which is about all society needs to run without hiccups - and I see our current political party added to them by enacting 24 new laws the other day.

I see that guy take a swipe at another with a machete last night, taking off two fingers, then he took a swing at another. I don't know what the current laws are regarding that, I doubt they're supportive of that behaviour - in which case 'regulated society' doesn't really register with him - in which case he needs a good talking to IMHO.

its all well and good having laws...they are good.... but worse than useless if they are not being enforced...and in many cases enforced hard.
thats not a swipe at the hog tied thin blue line....the whole judical system has been getting its teeth pulled one by one for many years now.
PERSONALLY I would like to see the return of corporal punishment...the thought of being beaten with cane or tied up in stocks in main street might just make some stop and decide nope not doing that.... and if did decide to do it...would actually give the powers that be ,a tool they can use thats not a wet bus ticket.
when a kid punches another at school and is expelled because of it........its because the school board has no other tools in the tool box any more..and the results of it are sad to watch.six of the best outside the principals office and get back to class laddie, dont do it again...worked for many many years for good reason.it still would work.
our entire judicial system is suffering from same ,just by differing degrees.

Well Australia must be one of the most over-regulated with respect to firearms and these things still happen. Registration, different endorsements fees etc etc. Bad people still get hold of firearms.

So keep voting for the people who want more regulation. You said you couldn't do anything but there is.

The ultimate end for that logic is a police state.

and on that note.....at what point does wearing a tin foil hat...for want of a better term.... become a valid reason for removing the priviledges given to others in society????

As a retired psychiatric nurse ,id venture this incident is in fact a good example of how fragile a lot of humanities grip on sanity is!Covid was the proverbial acid which dissolved the veneer of civility our so called society had ,seeing a lot revert to fearful gullible ,self entitled personas. Some of course saw opportunity and now are in the elite feeding such mind states. A repeat of the paediatric heart case is headlines this morning .where will it end -your guess is as good as mine ,but for certain it aint gonna be soon.

Lots of 'rabbit holes' for us to disappear down these days - and what is a 'conspiracy theorist', just someone who disagrees with authority/majority dogma - sort of like those who disagreed with Hitler.
And what exactly is 'mis-information/dis- information' .......... same really. Pretty hard to discern just who's telling you the truth - Putin, Biden, Argern, Trump ........... these people are paid by the word, and those words are designed to keep them in power.
Hate speech, free speach, anti-vaxxers - lots of wagons to hang your hat on.

Gutless to go whacking innocents though - that never changes.
