I especially like the blurb about how you can trust the content, as it is written by academics...... JFC - do these people ever look at themselves?

Written by academic experts. Says it all. Probably should have said as an addendum... we have no experience in the real world.

Identify your target beyond all doubt
I was exposed to him during the 'professional development' part of my career in the Army. About as myopic as they come. Will put his spin on everything. Most probably feels jittery walking past a construction site with nail guns in operation.
Academics, politicians, and religious zealots are taboo subjects here, but they are the most dangerous of all!
Which is why open discussion should be had
Think about the long march, and clowns like that in charge of educating the next generation. That is where the real harm is done.
Which is not to say that opinion piece is anything other than rubbish.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
Pompous opiniated cretin …. If you follow his “ logic” then every person owning a car should have to join a car club & sit compulsory tests every year. And as for his “unanswered” questions, the same applies to car owners & MV licenses…… how would the law prevent a license being granted to a violent extremist?? Or stop motor vehicles from being used to commit crimes??
Pretty sure the other thread about this got deleted.
I won't waste my time coming up with any considered opinion again on the subject on this forum.
Perhaps, in the interest of public safety, academics and public servants should be obliged to run their comments (written or otherwise) past a 'common sense approval committee' before publication to avoid widespread misinformation to the public. It seems to work well in the various 'Peoples Democratic Republics' that the academics like so much!
The issue with academics is they think they are experts at everything. But would you trust a lawyer for heart surgery, or a heart surgeon for your divorce settlement.
Show me an 'academic' in NZ that is an experts on all things firearms and I'll show you a unicorn that will give you a lapdance with a happy ending.
Chaz Forsyth possibly, but otherwise your correct and their opinions about as useful as a colour chart designed by a blind man
They certainly do walk among us.
Some of the ones I previously thought were "us" have actually turned out to be "them".
Overkill is still dead.
