I was just thinking that with a 220gr or maybe even something heavier with ~9gr of pistol powder the 300blks wouldn't go too far but seems like even then they can still be slung effectively up to 400+ yards, ergo, shooting upwards isn't going to be the best idea haha.

I use 208gr A max projectiles I found 220 gr too heavy. Good luck shooting out to 400m I have mine zeroed for 75m and at 200m it's dropped like a stone running subs. Still a fun caliber though
