There's a difference between privacy and anonymity.

An example; privacy is nobody seeing what you do but potentially knowing who you are where as anonymity is nobody knowing who you are but likely able to see what you are doing. If anonymity is desired one should keep actions and activity separate from identity (i.e. non-attribution to actions).
