    Very sad for all involved.
Wonder how the police, press and the anti-gun lobby are going to spin this one ?

Over heard about this last night and wondered how it was going to be spun with the roar and duckshooting, plus the recommendations coming out...

Tragic, but expect it to be spun that he was a LFAO (if he was at all) who just happened to be a cop.

More regular licensing will have no effect detecting mental health issues, actually as found in the UK it will have the opposite effect, where firearms holders will avoid visiting doctors, for mild depression, for fear of losing there license.

Just make a medical certificate from a shrink part of the relicensing process.

    No certificate, no guns.

They may not pick up a screw just starting to come loose, but should be able to spot someone who is a danger to themselves or others.

Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

Reminds me of an old boy who walked into a gunshop near my old home town a few years ago. He was a well known regular customer.
He asked to view a 12g, and once handed the gun, reached into his pocket, loaded said gun, and took his own life right there and then.
No one saw that one coming, sadly
Turned out his wife and lifelong partner had recently passed away.
