Remember you need an activating event. Untill that time you don`t need to do anything. Buying Ammo and reloading components is not an activating event.

If a suppressor, trigger, stock etc isn't required to be registered why do they require a mail order form to purchase? By what twisted logic do they arrive at the point where we can buy baffles for a suppressor without a mail order form but not the bit that screws to the barrel. FUBAR is what springs to mind.

So,I have a Sako long action, no barrel,no bolt,no trigger.

Does a barrel by itself constitute “a major part” ? Or a barrel blank ? Seems that neither would be captured, nor should they.

This is great analysis for me, I struggle to understand the deeper stuff, but I can see many LFOs will have know idea of the intricacies.

Maybe that's also part of the plan, make it so hard to understand that when people get a visit from their local constable they are found to be non-compliant and their licence and firearms are all taken away.
