i have had 4 times, had a customer enter the store and hand over a loaded firearm with a chambered round.
numerous times i have had loaded mags inserted into a firearm but the chamber clear.
i once took from a customer, a loaded firearm with a chambered round and safety off who was waving it at me, discribing the fault with the rifle.
sometimes, you see some scary shit on the other side of the counter.

Ridiculous.
I can't fathom the stupidity of some people. Bugger that.
I would be growling at anyone sweeping me with a firearm no matter what state it was in.
It has probably happened but I can't recall anyone I enjoy shooting sports with doing it off the top of my head.

If an AO gave a loaded firearm back to a person he was storing it for and the said firearm was discharged while placing it in a car would the AO retain his position? Or employment? Just asking
I would put the blame on the last person to handle the firearm personally, as they did not ensure it was safe before they received it.

In my opinion anyone taking possession of a firearm from another person and not insisting that they first show that it's clear and unloaded,
is entirely responsible for any subsequent problems.
I was once at a party where somebody was like come look at my guns. These guys were swinging this pump action shotgun around then leant it on a chair action closed etc. I had an urge to check it was clear, and ejected an unfired cartridge from the chamber. It gave me the shits thinking how far south things would have gone if one of those dick heads pulled the trigger.
That is some scary shit Beavis.
It just gave me the urge to go thru all of my firearms just now to make sure they were clear.
They were. So now I am going to reward myself by firing a couple of them.

I always ask the person handing me a firearm to open the bolt or action first, I then visually check myself. @Rushy can't say anymore, but it concerns me!
couldnt agree more guys .some are just thickas pigshit full stop.
theres no bloody excuses whatsoever fullstop. Im hot on this .
took my .223 in to get barrel threaded last week- bolt&mag travel seperate ,thank you very much and I asked the staff member if he wanted them with the rifle ,only then did i hand them over.
Generallyy I never leave a mag loaded ,but if it is(.22) ,its secured well and bloody truly clear of the rifles etc.likewise bolts.
Imof the opinion perhaps its time shop staff refused service if weapons are presented in a such a state!
may be tough but hells bells if anything went wrong in the shop MBIE would tuck into the staff without as much as a single word of contrition.
