    20Ga Semis -

I been trying to find a 20 guage A400 Upland and A400 Lite -Max 5 to check out. Going to buy one or other or a Benelli M2, which ever fits or swings better.
Went to my local hunting and fishing and............................................... .......they seemed totally disinterested in selling me anything.

Had a try with a Unico 12ga but its big and heavy and yuk. Asked salesman re 20ga semis "Nope we have neither and no 20g semis at all" and wandered off........these are not cheap semis so I would have thought.

Anyone seen either in their "local"?? I might have to try asking the distributor who has what perhaps?

20G m2 and Pattermaster choke. Slays pheasants out to 40m.Patternmaster choke is on same level as annealing. Wicked.

Funny thing is when i brought my previous 20ga Beretta U/O from them in 2011 (Same store different owners) the experience was totally the opposite.

28ga I keep thinking about but its just a little bit less versatile for what I want to do where as a 20ga will also work great on the "purple pheasant drives" we have here

Aha. I was wondering why you wanted 5 shots. Now I understand Purple haze.

When I looked at the A400 Upland a couple of years ago the Upland only held 3x 3" rounds in the tube. Although if you're coming from an O/U that's probably not a big concern.

I asked the chaps at the Beretta stand at the H&F clay shoot in Hamilton if you could put a mag extension on it and they said no. Just some food for thought.

I coached a dude on pheasants only to chamber a round once the cock had flushed. Previously a barrage would erupt and cock would fly away. After a few birds he got the idea and was more patient and more dead birds. Cut him off from 12g to 20g. He never looked back. There is a great vid also about missing in front. Many people never get the idea of lead. Most noticeable on running deer.

I had both 20G Beretta A400 and Benelli Sport II. In the end I sold the A400 as I couldn’t get used to the movement of the kick-off during recoil.

Ran a variety of steel loads through them both, both cycled fine, never any issues at all. A400 probably easier to look after though and the stock is plastic with the wood type veneer over it, so cleans up well.

I just get on better with the Benelli (except for jamming your thumb in the mag tube).

Gidday, is this for mainly upland game and lead shot? How’s the 20 gauges go with steel?
