Thread: After old Dbl barrel donations for Tasman District Gundog Society.

We handed in 3 old damaged club guns into the current arms amnesty, 1 with a broken stock & 2 with broken & bent extractors. I was wondering if anyone had any old double barrel shotguns in working order that they wanted to get rid of & happy to donate to the Tasman Disrtict Gundog Society in Nelson. We are only after 3 for replacement & would be greatly appreciated.

These were very old club guns, 1 had a completely smashed stock when a contestant had trouble closing the gun & decided it was a good idea to try using his knee, I talked to local gun shop about getting a gunsmith to look at them & was told it would have cost more than what they were worth or to purchase a second hand one.

What is the tasman district gundog society about? Other than the obvious connotations from the name. Just curious

We are a duel club Gundog trials & Breed showing, with the Gundog trials this is a simulated field competition comprising of Retriever trials, Pointer & Setter, Spanial trials there are also live game & walk up trials which we don't hold as we are limited with man power.
Basically Retriever trials have different grades, you must complete a land & over water trial to get & aggregate score, dead pidgins are thrown & placed as blinds, dogs are judged & marked on not breaking, marking & retrieving. Shotguns are used but only shot shells with primers are used not live ammo.

Hi, next time you want to get rid of some old guns post them up on here for free.
Some people like tinkering with stuff like that.
Or.... they could be plugged, loaded with lots of fast powder, tied to a tree and remotely triggered to produce some interesting wall hangers.

Only joined the other day, but I'll keep it in mind if we have another one that buggered.
