the winchester stuff is plurry good ammo...any duck that got away was probably due to operator error.. great to see things worked out well for you.
having shot shite loads of rabbits in tarras country "back in the day" using mainly falconsp36 #3 lead (top load that one) we saw alot of rabbits we had a go at at reasonable range (read barrel stretching) travel 20-30 yards then keel over kicking in the rosehips.....upon opening them up sure enough a few pellets had gone into chest redering lungs unoperable.
rabbits DONT take a lot of pellets to kill them,they just have to be in right place and penertrate enough.....got a mate who kills crap loads with .20ga using #7.5s but he up close and over dogs....pays the price if trying for bunny further out.
Thanks for your advice the other day Micky Duck, I had a great day yesterday. I didn't get to use any Winchester on the ducks as I was still using the old ammo from the previous season but it sure as hell knocked over the rabbits.
