If you have a mag extension for it you can sell it to the govt for about $2,375 if its in good condition.
The Benelli m2 is on the list, they will buy it. If you brought it with the mag extension fitted, you may not have the original mag tube cap, you can hardly be expected to go out and locate one.
So, do you reckon those that bought a mag extension and added it to their M2 will be eligible for a buyback of the whole shotgun?
Yep, why not? If I owned a Ferrari with a large capacity V12, then they banned big evil motors, should I be expected to put a v6 in it because it’ll still work? No.
I'm talking about an M2 that is sold, as they all are new, with the standard 5 shot tube mag and mag cap. Even so they've listed it, so good news for anyone who has one with the mag extension as long as the price is honoured.
Have a friend who has an old unused semi .22LR with a 20 shot detachable mag who reckons he's going to get the used price for it even though he has two 10 shot mags that came with the rifle when he bought it new back in 1967.
They have made some really dumb, and hasty decisions, but don't think they are silly enough to pay out on something that has been modified from how it was sold new, they would be keen to take the complete unit and pay for the mag extension. Only have to read the article by one of the advisors to the buy back funding scheme to realise the goal posts are easy to move.
Regarding the Benelli M2 in the Buy-Back price list it states at the top of the page -"Shotgun semi-automatic, non-detachable magazine, 6+ cartridges (value at under $5,000)".
Since the standard Benelli M2 has a detachable magazine it looks like the only payment will be $140 for the extension mag that is in new or used condition. Listed under, "Shotgun magazine extensions". $50 for extensions in poor condition.
So what's the best way to go about selling these days? Get a store to sell it on your behalf?
