    Cycling Problems

Is there anything i can have done by a gunsmith to allow my shotgun to shoot light/field loads 7.5's ... which is what i shoot 99% time .
I think the problem is mainly failing to eject correctly thus not allowing feeding of next round ,its a pain in the ass !! and happens too often...Im not sure if the load doesn't have enough oomph to cycle, and if that can be improved by gunsmith ? ... I also dont see any pattern regarding being clean as a whistle or if running gun dirty

Any advice and or if you can point me in the right direction of someone in CHCH please

What is the shotgun? Probably the load doesn't have enough oomph. Try goin to a faster load or higher payload.

Try another brand of light field load ammo.
My SPX930 likes most, but not all light field loads.

I have the contact details of the gunsmith in Chch that I would trust to do this sort of thing if you want to PM me.

However as a life principal mucking around with semi automatic shotguns trying to fix problems is a fools game as the only real answer is to sell it and buy something more expensive that works right out of the box.

Hi have you tried running a couple of boxes of heavy stuff through her to loosen her up so to speak .The 612 is a gas gun so a good gunsmith should be able to open up the gas ports a little to give the action a bit more grunt but once done it cannot be reversed and once done if you put heaver loads through her you will hammer her to death .Another option could be to put in a slightly lighter action return spring ie requiers less power to work the action ,some gunsmiths probably wont want to know due to the fact theres allways a chance of a cock up .maybe keep the armsan for the heavey work and get one for the light stuff you carnt have to many shotties you know

Hmm-had this problem with my escort on sporting clays .Yes like massive alot espoused get a new one etcetc ,but one polite bloke suggested i contact Barry Foster who imports the Hull brand of ammo. Barry has DTL100/300 ammo and since using it I aint looked back.it packs the required oomph and its bloody deadly on upland game and clays. I also recommend his 3" steel load 34gm solway magnum to put holes in anything flying you may want to eat.
