    Damn It! Lost load data.

Hi all. Well, I was about to load up some 12g .690 round balls and what do ya know, I've lost the load data I had which I found online nearly a year ago but after an hour searching can not find. The data was for RB's in a win AA hull and wad, AP70N powder and win209 primer pushing at 1200fps. Does anyone have load data for this kind of load? I do have AS50N powder as well. Thanks

I know a lot but it seems less every day...

Due to the exorbitant cost of reloading components, warning shots will not be given.

    Found this,

"This seems to be close to a perfect solution as I can find the initial problem I laid out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGVZVFL2Pow

    WinAA Hull
    .690 Lee Round Ball
    Gas Seal
    1/4" Felt Wad
    3/8" Felt Wad
    29.7 grains of Unique

He says it produces about 1250-1275fps and kicks a ton.

Longbow stated that no wad and only felt wads or cards will leak and reduce fps and consistency... and I agree. But it seems I could load this up with felt only in a pinch."

    Here's the link to thread
    https://castboolits.gunloads.com/sho...ad-with-no-wad

Unique = AP70N according to ADI published equivalents

Use at your own risk !!

1oz. I did try what ADI had listed for 1oz of shot using AS50N but the test loads I made using AP70N were much better, unfortunately ADI don't have loads listed for 1oz shot using AP70N. May have to stick with the AS50N loads, save the AP powder for my cast loads

Yes, the AP70 would be too slow for 1oz loads no doubt

Thing is ADI only has AP70N listed for slugs and for 1450fps. I had load data for 1200fps. The ADI slug data did make me believe AS50N was too fast but in saying that there's a ton of youtube vids of people opening up factory target loads (fast shotgun powder I presume), emptying out the shot and dropping a round ball or slug with good results.

Does anyone have a copy of Lyman shotshell 3rd, or 4th? edition which apparently has data for .690 in 12g? If anyone does could you take photo and post it for me? Thanks.
I've look online for a free pdf copy but only 5th edition which has nothing for 690.

I have been using Win AA compression formed hull with Win 209 Win AA12 11/8 wad cut petals to length, 20g felt under 1oz lee keydrive, 21.6grains AS50n. I use this in Rem 1187 slug gun & it goes great on rabbits, hares & possums. I started at 21grains which was nice & light but am now at 21.8grains.

Is there anything left of the rabbit/hare/possum ?

I did try 1oz round balls with 20grn of AS50N, win AA hulls, w209 primers, AA12 wad with a piece of cork card as a nitrocard behind the RB, a paper patch to make the ball a snug fit in the wad, I didn't cut the petals of the wad as I didn't see the need and reason to do so at the time. I suppose they shot well, did put a hole through a half round fence post. I used 20grn of AS50N because ADI's data recommends 20.4grn for 1235fps for lead shot size 3-12, I cut back to a even 20grn to drop the velocity a bit. Have no idea what my velocity is but it felt quite mild compared to factory slug loads.

This from a practical old bugger that doesn’t know anything about loading. Reverse engineer one of your existing shot shells.
