    guncity and me

now im no great fan of the pushyness of guncitys staff but im as guilty of bieng subject to the flattery of young woman as the next guy.
so i purchased a single arm sit on clay thrower tho eldest daughter tried to convince me the double arm 150 buk more model was ''what she used '' yea right she uses a manuel trap
anyway i and a nieghbour put the bugger together and it works bloody good.
so 350 including a case of 20 gauge clay ammo and a box of clays not bloody bad.

they had some mouth watering sxs,s to but unfortunately the prices were as eye watering .

    no price on the H+H
Otherwise some of them seemed reasonable exchange rate considered.

davey tipple did at one point have a very sexy wee H&H 12sxs beautifully cased etc etc.
having decided it'd make a bonny birthday present (In my mind),I goes home to ask her indoors if shed agree to us adding$50K to our mortgage .
gentlemen the remainder of that conversation is even too painful to remember let alone type out here!
which reminds me -have i bought anything gunwise off here lately????? .reasonbeing wer'e shortly shifting into our new home and as i was measuring up where the gunsafe goes she asks what exactly i have in my collection.-very suspicious coming from the minister of finance that!

I was in there last year,he had a Holland on consignment that fitted me well. Priced at £9000, the owner was willing to let it go for £5000.

Times have changed in the world of shooting, most new gums choose a o/u, there are no shortage of high priced shotguns in that configuration on his site.

might be my age but o/u,s arent beautiful to me.
some are very nice and desirable but a sleek sxs is just a thing of beauty case hardened or engraved up.

Last time i was in chch (last year) they had a bin of sxs that were not steel compatible and advertised as such. Priced at $200-500 some were quite tidy.

I’ve been using a Holland and Holland side by side on some traps and duck shooting this year. It’s about 120 years old. Was made for a nz politician a long time ago. Was sold by his grandson brokered through shooters supplies. Beautiful to shoot. Can’t remember what dad paid for it about $40,000 it’s got all the collector paper work. He uses it pheasant shooting along with our other family 100 year old galleon shotgun. Swaps them at lunchtime. He really enjoys it in his retirement.
