Reaming out Full Choke for steel?

    Hi all
Just thinking of perhaps getting a second hand O/U 12g for a bit of all around use, ie gamebird and occasional clay target shooting.
Most of the guns I see advertised have a full choke barrel, and I am wondering how successful it is to have a gunsmith rebore that barrel to something suitable for steel shot.
But how successful is this process?
Would I end up with a half assed compromise that doesnt pattern very well either with steel game loads or trap loads?

    Thanks.

The forcing cones need to be lengthened as well.Got my old a5 Browning done for $93,but a few years ago.
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out
