Bisley 12 Gauge brass snap caps - twin pack | Trade Me
Are these any good, or should I get another type, or doesn't it really matter.
Cheers.

Snap caps are supposed to prevent fitring pins breaking or damaging the breech face if dry firing. For long term storeage they supposedly stop spring memory. They look ok but what price shipping? Locally beretta or similar would probably work out cheaper. Or you could go cheap, 2 empty hulls dropped back in work fine, no drama if you loose em and you have brand new spap caps every time.!
shipping is 13$
there is a second hand Perazzi on T/M for 20$ from reloaders
I didn't think about using a set of used hulls, would not the fact that they had been fired be just the same as having none, as the indentations in the primers would mean the pins would go forward as if hitting nothing
Anyway I don't know anything about them, which is why I'm asking.

Bth my u/o's wreck the plastic ones, they don't last more than 6 months.
I don't like using fired cases as they look too much like ammo.
Workshop Innovation have a few different types. Next time I'll buy the metal ones
Trust the dog.........................................ALWAYS Trust the dog!!
never thought to look at workshop Innovations cheers,

Hey jakewire, have a look at A-Zoom snapcaps. Solid machined aluminium anodised red with synthetic primer material. Same dimensions as loaded ammo so can be used to test cycling and function too.
Sold in pairs for $20 at Reloaders and some other gunshops in most calibres & gauges. I use them in my semi-auto rifles and shotguns.
cheers.
