Great stuff, he'll be excited I bet! How old is he?
My first gun was given to me when I was old enough to have my license, a Belgium Browning C grade with 30" barrels, used my of my strength and effort to hold the bugger up. But I have grown into it and cant shoot with anything else near as well.
Do wish I could have started with something smaller though.
UU-youre a legend-dont forget to post his first sucess -my nephew uses a 20g yildiz SXS-bloody effectively too, mind you his old man (little bro)is a cracker shooter.Had great delight last year in giving hima couple of my duck calls to use.
Mite set up on the geese the week before opening and let him shoot a couple on the ground, hope to move onto shooting them as they lift off the paddock .
Brilliant UU. Encouraging young folk is bloody important stuff. Hats off to you.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

I got my Grandson a .410 kahn single barrel & a duckshooting licence this year & have taken him out the last 2 Saturdays & he loves it but hasn't got any ducks yet (he is 8) so I took him to a sporting clays shoot for some practice & he was disappointed he didn't hit anything so I had a go & its got bloody tight chokes. Now this week I have got .410 gaugemate inserts so he can shoot my side by side this weekend & have just got a Spanish u/o coming as needs double triggers due to .410 not setting second barrel then I can cut down the stock to fit him. Where we shoot ducks are 20-25m away so more open chokes are the go.
