Thread: Bird Dog Beer

I am not much of a beer drinker or should that be I do not drink much beer, but this took my eye today in the supermarket and with a label Bird Dog of course I had to buy it...awful price being $8.00 something a bottle but you expect the heftier price on boutique beers as opposed to the yeah rights and those of the same ilk...

This pours a great thick head like a darn good cappucino, has hop and yeast aplenty, and at 6.5% I do not think I could drink another bottle without breaking into lurid song and risk having the dogs howl...I have actually done well to finish this one...but it is full flavoured, the hops leaving you in no doubt that you have well and truly consumed them with the rather tannicky (sp) finish on the palate but well worth the coin.

Venison jerky, Paradise or Canada salami, with a good smelly cheese on a lovely loaf of ciabatta and you have it sorted!

Not in the same class as a nice bottle of Black Grouse but I'm sure Shadow would drink it ,he drinks a good share on my lion red.

Fuck ive drank it!! couldnt remember paying 8 buck's i bought a few and woke up in the morning with my teeth stuck to my lips like that thirst is creepy add for fresh up, but it might have been the box before hand that did it..............ive had worse beers than that.............moa beer............ vailima on so on and dont say tui toby!!!!!!

I will keep an eye out for it eebees. As i am maturing gracefully i am finding i enjoy a beer that has a flavor as opposed to the tasteless largers i cut my teeth on and our market is flooded with.

That Emerson's is some good beer, the pilsener is bloody good too. Expensive but then if you get 3-4 bots down your doing real well. Haven't seen the dog one around (yet)
Mark Emerson knocks around up Middlemarch way a fair bit and delivers to one of my locals, so it's always a couple of roadies on the way home.

im with wirehunt Emerson,s is a good kiwi craft beer , bookbinder is also another good one they make but will have to find the bird dog and try that
they not long ago got brought out by lion brewery so not so small anymore

Do you think a bottle a day will make my dogs better bird dogs?

It might make the trainer a better drinker.
