Thread: Bird hunting question...

Interesting, I don't run into as many quail as pheasants so maybe Quin just hasn't figured out they are better fun yet. We did have one crazy day last season where we ran into 3 coveys in one pass of some cutover, the last of the day. The first was only half a dozen birds and I managed to drop one. The last 2 were big coveys close together, maybe one in truth just a bit spread out, totally probably 70 birds. It was a madhouse as in both of them I shot one off the first flush and sent Quin to retrieve only to have him go on point again, me send him again, and have birds get up in front of him, sending me scrambling to reload. They were everywhere. I swear the second time he looked at me to say "when I go on point that means put some shells in the gun, dipshit". There was a lot of "BANG, BANG...&%$*" that pass.
