    bird launchers

Munsey and i did a session on dizzied pigeons yesterday. Things went well with good progress on pointing from greater distance and backing etc. Just looking at plans for future training and thinking a launcher would.help.with a couple of lessons. Does anybody know of.some available for hire etc in chch region?

The way our dollar is against the US at the moment, just bring in a pair of launchers from Lion Country Supply. They are invaluable for teaching a dog manners around birds and allow you to avoid so many pitfalls associated with using dizzied pigeons.

or get the higgins versions, alot more natural and safer for the dog.
the build quality on the LCS is not that great and you need to buy the up graded remote to run a pair properly.

Yep hoons on to it, for the price and what they can do for your dog its worth buying at least one. Failing that ask the gundog clubs? I use DT systems ones, well made and quiet to launch. You can hire mine?

    Thanks guys.
Few leads to follow up on. Just want more control of the situation during the high speed runs to make sure we are replicating hunting situations and not letting them charge in too close on a dizzy bird (in saying that he hits the brakes dam hard when he hits the scent and is doingnwhat hes meant to, this is more of an insurance policy as i make sure hes got it solid). I might try to.video the next run

I've have no issues the LCS ones... Graham Palmer is likely to have some you can use. If not PM me and i'll rinmg some mates... theyv are the kind of thing you use one aftrenoon, if you do it right, and put back in the shed for the rest of a dogs life.

Just opening this back up again. Does anyone have one of these that they would like to hire out? I'm in Northland but would happily freight it from anywhere...

Get in touch with the Auckland and regions GSP Club, a few of their members will have some and they'd probably be the closest
