Does anyone know of any Brittany litters coming up?
Not sure how you'd go about importing one though :)

gimme a couple of days, got a mate who has one but i am away tomorrow but will contact him wednesday
Stacey of Hamils here in Tauranga may be doing something / or already done one.
Cheers fellers. While people are looking has anyone run them and is there any reason you wouldn’t?
I have run them for the past 12 years or so, i am well into my second one. Like any breed here in NZ we get a shallow representation.
It takes a lot of dedication and knowledge to improve a breed (and money).
Also like any breed you need to see the parents working and hunt with them to see if they fit your hunting style.
As you are in the SI I would concentrate on those breeders, so you can see what they have.
Feel free to give me a call.
Mate in Tauranga has a litter on the ground, imported parents
Yep had a bit to do with them, my biggest issue with them hunting wise is ironically the reason most buy them - size. I really think in a pointing breed you need a minimum of 22 inches at the shoulder to not wear down in heavy cover typical of North Island pheasant country. To justify that statement, remember air scenting pointing breeds tend to run over things, ground scenting flushing breeds tend to go under. Galloping through heavy pohuehue in dune country or overgrown riverbeds for hours on end is hard work even on larger dogs. This wouldn't be an issue for a south island upland dog however. Otherwise fantastic dogs.
Old man is planning a litter out of his import bitch again soon, I have a pup from the first litter and he is very nice, doing it all at an early age. PM for his details.
@7mmwsm I've heard anecdotes of them on deer but no personal experience. I don't think they'd be the best choice as a deer dog as a good brittany is quite a high drive beast. Upland game is where they excel. They are more 'english' ie. closer to the pointer and setter than the Germanic versatile breeds if that makes sense. And yes, spoke to EBs a few weeks ago, she is fit and well and still has her Bretons.
unfortunately my mates one is neutered

Awesome @Kelton, glad to hear he's a larger one. I think they're getting too small here in NZ. How is he bred?

in that top photo,a fella could be forgiven for thinking the muzzlebreak was getting a licking LOL.... awesome photos.
@Micky Duck theirs two photos in their that are in your back yard mate the river crossing is bush stream and Glassing the rocky outcrops is a little more altitude where I’d do my meat shopping
and yes I would be in like flynn if the price was right....you fellas with great dogs need to turn your back more often and get accidental breeding going on,so there are cheaper Xbred pups around for a tight arse like me....or let your boy poke the bosses foxy or heading bitch.....hmm heading bitch brittany ...that would be interesting combo....
he says looking at the GSP/LAB-LAB/BEARDIE asleep at his feet...
@Kelton how is he bred as in where did he come from, lineage etc
I’d have to dig out his papers mate mum was orange American dad was black French he towers his farther and has thrown the liver from a great great great grandfather I have a photo somewhere it’s scary you’d think it was Bear but it’s a dead dog over seas somewhere now days all his pure breed dogs have come out a spitting image of him bitch’s more of a mix of mum and dad his farthest parents were direct imports his farther was born here if this bitch gets pregnant I’ll have to get A into G and sort all that out again and I’ll let you no

Awesome. Here's my one 'Gaston' photo at 6 months old. His father is one of EBs. Shot my first double on pheasant over the sire many seasons ago now.
Eb’s ? I think his farther came from Napier way from memory he’s a good solid looking dog
Bears parents Jazz orange and white and Moose black and white on the rangiteki river and later in the video is Charlie’s litter mate @johnd you may see the resemblance Izzy I think her name was
Yeah can see the resemblance. This line of dogs sure throw some comedians.
What I like most about the Brit, is their grit and drive.
