I'd givbe up hunting before trying to do it with that, and putting working blood over that is likely to produce lesser than both parents. You'd think the result would be an improvement on the show dog, but it is unlikely.... I had the same with my first working spaniel... show mother working highly credentialed father. Result dog with the biddibility of a show dog... none.... and the drive and hunt of a working dog... ie: impossible to do anything with. Whitehead reckoned he'd never had a GSP as hard headed as that spaniel....
