My commands were as follows, and when used on long casts, I would whistle the dog to a sit position first, and accompany them with visual left/right hand signals:
left - "leeeeeeeeeft"
right - "riiiiiiiiiiiiight"
initial long cast either left or right but making dog go behind me - "away forred"
go up the hill - "get back up"
come down the hill - "come down"
go through the fence - "get through"
move forward - "walk up"
slow down - "steady"
bark - "speak up"
no bark - "quiet"
Whole idea was to keep commands simple, forceful, and non repetitive, and easy for someone else to pick up if they had to work the dog without having the teach them Gallic first.
