Quick has completed his testing in Germany with P1s in Derby and Solms which along with conformation grading and breeding soundness exams allowed him to be bred from.

Quin has completed the natural ability test with a PII with mostly 4s. I'm currently waiting on them to develop a more advanced test to run the boys through. I will get as many of the pups to do the NA test as I can.
I also participated in a few testing systems in the US.
Ryan, I knew your dog had done these tests so this question posed was really for the masses of others that run Germans -how many actually complete these tests if at "all" --It will be very interesting to see how many actually do these or just talk about them but never do them - I am skeptical
Well it's a bit hard to do the German tests in NZ. The DD boys are doing tests but that's only for the DDs.
The VHDTA tests are the only ones available here and they aren't just for the Germans, all pointing breeds can participate.

There is a few... The problem is currently there is a ceiling in how high you can go in it, I think they are working on rectifying that as there are a few dogs capable of that level in their organisation now I believe. Good on them
There are a few people that do the NZVHDTA tests. I have run two dogs through the Natural Ability test and one through the Intermediate. At the last Natural Ability test in Amberley there were only 4 or 5 dogs tested, a GSP and the rest were weimaraners. No dogs were entered in the Intermediate test. I am not sure when the next North Island tests will be. In the South Island these are the next tests Ranfurly - end of Feb or early March 2012, Timaru - Craigmore - April 2013.
I'm a member of that test thing, but never been to a meeting or test day :D
BUT all dogs here must pass the cat test, as per the Germans.
I've tested dogs at the Natural Ability and Intermediate level of the NZVHDTA system. As Pointer and RCGSP have highlighted, that is the extent of the JGHV style testing system available here, except for the DDNZ which exists under the vDD.

Yep that is me, Wilson passed away in 2007 from a twisted gut unfortunately. Still have one of his pups though.

big game indicating dogs have some free videos on teaching a dog to sit. 5m light rope for recall. @Ruff will be able to give you better advise

How is the NZVHDTA 5 years on?
still not making a huge difference to working versatile breeds......maybe dave richardsons HPR trials will have more of an impact .
