The most impressive bit is the size of the pointer kennel filmed in 1930's
The amount of dog food required per week is unbelievable

We did quite a few hours on the river today for no trout . The boys are getting 2 sets of MM bisquits and venni ribs cleaved up. Growing up in the 60's an old bloke told me ... I feed my dogs before I feed myself.

That was drummed into me as a young shepherd. Stayed with me for life.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

Heard that saying from one of the Shepherd's as we were building on a station not far from here years ago.Eight shepherds and lots of dogs, they'd go thru a few kgs of station meat a week for dog tucker.Shepherds weren't allowed into the workers dinning room at night for dinner untill the dogs were feed. One of the stations rules, dogs need fuel too.
We were building the new dinning room and kitchen.Got to stay on the station and dine with the shepherds.Interesting guys to listen to and what went on, on the station.Theres was a rabbit pest control gang down there at the time for several weeks.Shot guns and dogs, they'd shoot 400 to 700 rabbits aday. This is back 35yrs ago.
