Heegaards V Kody was imported from one of Denmark's leading setter breeder/handlers. His father Sletthallens Knock-Out was bred on two US imports by using frozen semen from legendary stud Equimark. Mother Heegaards II Randi is a mix of Danish/Swedish/Finnish/Norwegian lines.
Storeskar's G Snorre was Geoghegan's superb import from Norway. He was behind Woody imported to NZ. Storeskar's II Odin was a later import from the same kennel but not in the same league as Snorre. Behind Odin there's some blood from the Italian Dianella kennel but it turned out fairly disappointing. Perhaps not very good individuals because I've seen a lot of very appealing setters from that kennel. Behind both of the Storeskar dogs you again find the US import Equimark. He is also found behind my Norwegian import Moulin, through her grand-sire Sletthallens Raijo and behind Earl Bonnar's import Gus on maternal side.

Holes in a five generation pedigree would worry me, El B!!!!!
The Irish kennel Club only work on a three genreation pedigree when registering.

I'm not sure where the foundation for the comment that Odin was less of a success comes from. Johnny decided that he wasn't going to miss his young daughter growing up and had more or less decided to retire form trialling so Odin was used a few times and then re-exported when he did decide to retire. I'm sure had Johnny decided to stick at it Odin would have been as much of a success, if not more.

Apart from H'gaards Kody back I have seen or run against nearly all the dogs in the last three generations and quite a few further back as well. Hardly surprising you have a good'un.

Well, that's more speculation on your part than on mine. For a start Odin was not as well bred as Snorre was, not by a long shot! Even so, Snorre had a greater impact at stud than anyone in Norway could have imagined. That Odin should in any way replicate that was probably wishful thinking..
