?? FYI what , as statement of fact in many aspects of NZ out door sports -so what ? it is what it is-cant call black white if its black -the only people that turn out regularly dressed "still" as they have for years is the hunt and the driven shoot and for that I certainly admire their traditions .

El b, we need to encourage people to come to the trials not frighten them away simply because some camo or another is all they have to wear. Its about the dogs.

On to a more serious note who went or knows more of the NZ trials ???? Robyn won with Grant Adolf second with a wire hair -any other news

It was farken windy! The mutts were copping a snout full of 100km gusts all day long and the birds didn't last long heading into the wind that's for sure. No weather for the cheese cutter El B, a few hats were lost over the course of the day.

I think there were only about 7 dogs that ran in the end. Grant and Robyn ran 1st and 2nd from memory (even a week ago is s struggle) and IMHO were the pick by some distance and I think only a few points separated them at the end of the day.

My highlights were seeing one of the reds running big and hitting the lay-lines and watching the german flick on point from a long way out on the 1st trap of the day and work its way in to gun range nicely. The quality of handling and control in both instances was a pleasure to watch and certainly something to aspire to, especially in trying conditions.

As per, a good bunch of P&S folk and was good have a yarn to the likes of Robyn and Grant. Managed to get a bird session in with the latter the following day, invaluable for a young handler and at the end of the day one of the real benefits of the trial scene.

Not a hint of tweed sorry El B; just the NZ commoner garb ;)

Popgun awesome mate thanks for the write up and fully agree seeing dogs run hard and big and smashin to a stop with a scent of feather --a bloody pleasure.I would have loved to both support and run in this trial but I am but a man of humble means .Did you get some images at all , the area looked like river flats?

Eesbees for me the dogs are the main aspect but not the only thing in a trial -handling is a biggy , competing against other handlers and dogs and seeing your growth or lack there of, your dogs growth and ability for itself and against others , being with a great bunch as we have that put their time into this sport to keep it going -man there are some champion people in our crowd that do that -thankyou to you all !!! and not to forget the advancement of English clothing hhaaaaaaaaaa I look forward to you running again soon Eesbees and hope a little champ comes to you soon -go the EsBRITON.
