    Action cameras for dogs

I have a couple of fantastic working and deer stalking dogs I’d love to get some action footage from. Has anyone here used a go pro or similar mounted on a dog and can recommend what type or brand? I have heard the go pro harnesses are useless on active dogs so don’t want to spend big $ for nothing

    Video quality, 1080P, 2K, 4K? Frame 24fps, 60? Battery size? Your budget?
    So be it

From what I've seen of GoPro dog mounted video it's pretty shaky and jerky. Most likely since the bracket mounting the camera to the harness needs to be quite long to have the camera to see over the dogs head. I guess you could try mounting on the chest but might be a bit low or the head might get in the way during stalking if the dog has his head down.

The Insta 360 Go 3s is tiny - here's a link to the Insta web page that may be helpful. https://www.insta360.com/blog/tips/b...-insta360.html

I would try one of the <30 dollars ones off Trade Me first.

If the idea is crap then at least you wont have broken the bank , and if it gets lost you wont cry too much.

Talk to Luke from NZ Hunter magazine.
He runs them. Apparently he doesn't have as many as he started with.
    Overkill is still dead.

Had saddle bags for the dog and used a GoPro mount with two Velcro straps for this footage from an old GoPro Hero 2
