Bones...no bones...well what a load of absolute twaddle... THEY ARE DOGS FOR PETE'S SAKE....not newborn rabbits...and all the tripe about cleaning your dogs teeth with a fricking toothbrush and special doggy dooogles toothpaste...give them a bone to chew...
Last year for the first time I saw the other half's dog eating plums off the tree:D
Iv heard of the onion thing. not sure why you would feed them onions anyway.
Ours get venison and bone fresh or frozen raw. They wont eat pork fresh or frozen raw but they love it cooked, Mate dropped of leftovers from a tame pig on spit and im feeding to them a bit every couple of days out of freezer.
They get fresh or frozen raw rabbits and hares gutted/skinned head and feet cut off.
Any left overs from tea including chicken/fish I only wont give them cooked bones that have been cut with a bandsaw and have sharp bits on em.
They got a whole gutted frozen snapper each couple of nights back that had been in the freezer too long(whoops my bad) I cut the spines and fins off.
If I'm feeding mine rabbits I just cut the feet off. They bite the heads off eat the guts out then eat the body. Coats look awesome but they fart a bit with the fur on them but no drama otherwise
Human snacks - chips can contain garlic and onion powder, cookies may contain raisins, chocolate or macadamia nuts, etc. Bottom line - there's a reason there's food and treats made especially for dogs.

It peeves me off that you can't get sardines (except the small expensive ones) in fish oil anymore. They have replaced it with olive oil and that sort of stuff.
Wife used to give her dogs a can between the two a few times a month, did wonders for their coats, a real sheen.
Of course thats probably bad for them too :P
I give my dog left overs from our dinners ok I admit I always cook a bit of extra spud and veges for Jess to give with her dog roll, mum brings all of the scraps from her place and so does my step sister (pies, lasagne, spaghetti bolognaise, chop bones, left over fish and chips etc) my dog eats the lot plus she gets her 5 champ dog biscuits after putting her on the chain every morning only to get her to hit the off button on her daily early morning wake up calls don't know whats worse my feckin alarm clock or my dog.
whilst many either feed or their dogs have eaten the foods dangerous to the dogs health one should also remember people smoke regularly. Just because it is done doesn't make it safe
My dog's vet recommended a raw egg weekly for a healthier coat :wtfsmilie:
