Which Ridgeback are you guys referring,, Rhodesian or Thai ??

Had Rhodesian Ridgeback/Cattle cross many moons ago was the best finder holder I ever had, would never hold without back up didnt matter if it was large boar or runt the size of gumboot, always bailed.

back in eighties bred ridgebacks - my bitch was a great guard dog - but very gentle with kids - absolute no bullshit if she had to be - but then again my two dogs were really very soft - on pigs bloody good - but guard not really - I was using them every day on goat work so they were under really good command - one of the dogs would indicate deer quite well when on his own - but we had dashhunds when we were kids and man they were bloody good guard dogs - no bullshit with them - visitors would not get out of their car until we had put them away - so its a attitude thing not size with being a guard dog - we had several years ago a young lady next door with a bull cross - decided to guard their driveway- but that included ours and half the bloody street- fucken thing got put down after grabbing a child by his clothing on the back of mums push bike - damn good job - be carefull with what you get as it can go horribly wrong with guard dogs
