Learn all about being tied up. Best bit of advice ever...solid wall no obstacles,collar dog CANNOT slip out of.tie it to wall and go away for an hour DO NOT enguage..no matter how much dog throws itself around ,yelps,howls pretends it's strangled( they won't die) the object of exercise it simple. Dog verses chain = chain wins. Dog will never afterwards fight the chain,it knows it can't win. Dog tied up at camp knows it's where boss wants it so settles down. No worry it's going to wander off or eat your food.

Yes Mikee I agree with you to a point, walking in bush I know I want my dog right there in front not 20m away.

i never considered using a collar for corrections but it you can adjust the shock to something that more disrupts them rather than shocking them i could see the benefits. I was more interested in the peace of mind IF the dog decides to bolt after something.

I've got a lab thats had good reviews for tracking deer from previous litters. I understand this could be a uphill battle and might end up with company inthe bush rather than a tool. I've watched decided to buy the blueprint and see how it goes. worst case the dog will have good manners

Thats how they are supposed to use an e collar. Just enough to acknowledge the zap.
Any person shocking their dog when dog has no idea of what they are being shocked for deverves to have the collar tied round their unmentionables and shocked on max level until the batteries go flat.

Yes a chain or rope is absolutely the best method to stop your mate wandering off when distracted. Tracking collars are really only piece of mind if they do wander off you know where to start looking.

My girl is trained to recall to collar beeping (or whistle) but beeping the collar is so much nicer that a noisey whistle and has no range limitations like other methods.

Sorry if this is a stupid question as I have zero experience with the collars. But can you get them to just beep rather than shock? Does this have a range limit?

My thinking is training a beep alongside a whistle for the reinforcement. That way you can be slightly quieter in the bush if they do run amuck off the longline

Yes, they have 3 buttons. T20 has beep, vibrate and turn collar light on/off.
Tt25 has those features as well as being ecollar. Range is limited to about 10km between collar and hand set in good conditions. Less in thick bush and maybe a little more if one of you is higher than the other. New collars have much better battery life.

As i said its more about piece of mind.

With my Setter all he needs is just the beep of vib. He hates both and really remebers what he's surpost to be doing.
