been a year since we lost our wee cocker,I pinched the bosses one out of truck today for a cuddle......Mrs still said NO.

Thats no good. Hope the new pup is as much fun as the old one.

Bugger! Too sad. It certainly hits hard but the memories linger long. My commiserations on the loss of your friend.

She was still as fit as ever and very mobile, 2 weeks ago when she started pissing while sleeping, completely empty her bladder, consulted 2 vets, both stated "we could take your money and run heaps of tests, but not uncommon problem in old spayed bitches, no cure"
She had had a very good innings for a rescue dog. Had odd "Border Colie" days but excellent dog in most ways, best "stopping" dog I had but could be kept in when hunting deer. This the first time in 40 years I've lost a dog without having another on the way up.

Good luck with the pup, I suspect there will be the odd time you’re going to think, a puppy, what was I thinking. ��

Bugger, condolences. Tough stuff but life goes on for you with memories. I wish you well with your new pup and a new focus.

My other half has already made those noises, didn't want another dog. Eldest daughter told her "poppa has to have a dog" so I'm in debt to someone.

From personal experience this time round the damage was not too bad, only last couple years!! and now all good.......................for now.
