For those who are first timers with gun dogs they are not as tuff as they appear . I always put cover over my dog after a hunt (ducks quails ). And always pack in a cover when on the hill . This doesn't turn him soft , 8 winters of neglect does .

Ive got a kiwaka one for the old girl, shes been using it for a few years on the hill now. just put it on back at camp before it cools down.
She hated it until the first cold night. Pack it handy in your pack and it will give you something comfy to sit on when glassing for extended periods aswell.

We have a couple of "Drizabone" ones for our dogs. Never use them except middle of winter when its raining cats
